Learn to Cook with Natural Sweeteners
Instructor Dottie Reeder will guide the two-hour class on how versatile and fun cooking with locally produced maple syrup and raw honey can be! Participants will learn how to select maple syrup and honey and will discover the many resources and recipes available.
Participants will prepare and sample a variety of recipes for the class, including:
- Maple Honey Caramel Corn
- Kielbasa Appetizers
- Herbed Honey Spring Salad with Sweet and Tangy dressing
- Old German Honey Cookies
- Maple Chai Tea
Participants will receive a copy of all of the recipes that are prepared during the class.
The cooking classes will be held in the Phelps High School on Saturday, April 1st, 2017from 10 am – 12 pm and from 1 -3 pm. The cost is $15 per participant. Preregistration is required and all class members must be at least 13 years of age, unless accompanied by an adult. Space is limited, so register early! In addition to this new offering, Phelps Maple Syrup Fest features local sugar bush tours, tree tapping demos, an arts and crafts fair with over 70 vendors, children’s activities, a Maple Café, and more.
